Welcome to the Second-last tournament of the World Cup!

Get ready to pick up all the cards on the table, because as you can see, we're playing Scopa! Just make sure not to pick the table itself...

This will be the usual 1 on 1 tournament, so we will definitely have a group stage, and after that, a knockout stage.
The tournament will start on November 25th, at 3 PM central European time. If you are not sure what time this is in your country, either ask me, or visit this link.

We have opted for the most popular variant of the game, so we will play Escoba. The group stage will be played with the typical 11 points score, increasing to 16 for the knockout stage, and finally 21 in the final game.

The registration will, as always, close on Thursday, 23rd of November.

Once again a reminder, to register, write a message in this topic and mention the country you are coming from, either here or privately to me. If you have registered in the past, there is no need to mention your country, since it will be the same as the last time. As a reminder, we will try to accept registrations in such a way as to not have a huge amount of players from one country compared to all the others, so make sure to register quickly. Players who register first from a given country always have the priority, in case that country receives a large number of registered players. Due to the limited number of players, this is typically two players at most per one country.

the draw for the tournament is ready.

I decided to take 16 people for this tournament, and the others are, as usual, on the standby list, and have a chance to replace anybody not present.

The participants have been divided into 4 groups of 4, meaning that every participant has 3 games in total to play in their group.

The 2 best players of each group will advance.
In case two or more people share the same amount of wins, the decision will be taken based on the total amount of points they have earned in all the games.
